The Totally Rad Show Hosts

About The Totally Rad Show

The Totally Rad Show is Revision3's explosion of movie, video game, TV, and comics news and reviews.

TRS was born in the depths of geek culture, at an epic game of Dungeons and Dragons in 2006. Alex Albrecht, host of Revision3's Diggnation, and Dan Trachtenberg, former host of Revision3's Geekdrome, met Jeff Cannata, former video game columnist, at the D&D table, and became fast friends. Intense debates over Star Wars characters, late night frag-fests in Gears of War, Heroes- and Lost-watching parties, and the sharing of dog-eared copies of Preacher graphic novels followed, leading the guys to one clear realization: This is the stuff we love. This stuff is totally rad.

Individually, Alex, Dan, and Jeff had always wanted to find a show that approached geek culture with as much fervor as they did, that wasn't embarrassed to roll dice or dress like Jedi, that realized that nerd is the new cool. Together, they decided to make it.

But one component was still missing. Luckily, they turned to uber-video god and bona-fide geek in his own right, Steve Koncelik, to help create a look and feel that was as rad as the subject matter. Several months, and hundreds of exploding fist-pumps later, the Totally Rad Show debuted on Revision3.

Four dudes in a garage. One green screen. A cubic ass-ton of enthusiasm. The Totally Rad Show is all about the feeling of sharing a great new movie, or video game, or tv show, or comic with your buddies. It is about the excitement in finding a piece of entertainment you love, or the pain in realizing something isn't as rad as you had hoped. It is about finding friends who share your interests and get just as excited as you do. If it is out there and it is Rad, it is on the Totally Rad Show.
Alex Albrecht

Alex Albrecht

Alex has participated in the entertainment industry for six years. He founded and directed the popular, Los Angeles-based improv comedy troupe, The Misfit Toys. The group was featured in Stuff Magazine and on MTV. Alex subsequently appeared in a number of national television commercials for companies such as Volkswagen, Dominos and Dell. After a chance meeting with a TechTV producer at a wedding, Alex landed the co-hosting role on TechTV's The Screen Savers. It was at TechTV that he met Kevin Rose, and one of the most successful Internet television partnerships was born. In 2004, Kevin and Alex decided to create a weekly podcast called Diggnation. The popular Revision3 show consistently ranks as one of the top podcast downloads available from the Apple iTunes Music Store.

In addition to Diggnation, Alex has teamed up with his two buds Dan and Jeff to create the raddest show on the net, The Totally Rad Show. TRS is an eccentric mix of movie quotes and radness.
Jeff Cannata

Jeff Cannata

Jeff Cannata has been working in the tech and entertainment field since the young age of 14, when he parlayed a Bay Area creative writing award into a job at the Contra Costa Times newspapers, reviewing computer and video games in a weekly syndicated column. His column even embraced the pre-Internet world of online interaction with a feature called Cannata ON-Line, which allowed readers to submit questions by dialing into a homebrew bulletin board service.

Jeff's column continued until he moved to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB, where he earned a BFA in Theatre, graduating with Honors.

As an actor and comedian in Los Angeles, Jeff has built a resume that illustrates range and versatility. On television, he has had recurring roles on soaps like The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital, as well as family fare like Nickelodeon's Just for Kicks. His numerous national and regional commercials include products as varied as Coors Light, Coldwell Banker, Disney, and the Apple iPhone.

Jeff also has extensive stage credits, performing seasons with the Texas and Nevada Shakespeare Festivals, The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, and northern California's Theatreworks, where he won a Dean Goodman Award for the role of Chris in Arthur Miller's All My Sons.

Jeff performs live comedy as well, producing and starring in The Returning Champs , an improvisational comedy troupe that has appeared at venues such as Hollywood's IO West and Santa Monica's Westside Eclectic for over 3 years. Recently, The Returning Champs were the featured closing night act in the LA Comedy Festival.

On the web, Jeff's sketch comedy group, Very Angry Neighbors are approaching four million first-time hits, releasing videos on web portals such as YouTube, Super Deluxe, Funny or Die and others. Very Angry Neighbors was also named "YouTube Star of Month" and "YouTube Star of the Moment" by G4 Network. Other honors include YouTube's Most viewed, Top Rated, Most Discussed, Most Linked, Top Favorites and #1 Comedy. YouTube has featured VAN's videos as the Editor's top comedy pick, and Panasonic awarded the group 1st prize as "Best Comedy" on the site.
