Bert goes back to Kindergarten this week to show us how to create a childlike paper illustration using Adobe Photoshop.
Bert's childlike drawing is no easy feat. Bert uses various Photoshop elements in order to create a very simplistic drawing. First, Bert forms background colors (that are later merged with shapes) by using the line tool, noise filter, facet filter and various patterns. Using the lasso tool, Bert creates a ground on the floor. Using the pen tool, Bert creates cutout trees. And finally, using the circle tool, Bert creates the sun and its rays. The paper illustration pops out with layer effects(drop shadow and bevel/emboss) and the burn and dodge tool. Bert also adds a "Hi" using the polygonal lasso tool and unique brush stroke.
Don't forget to design and e-mail Bert a background for our green screen! Please send a jpg design with size 1280x720 pixels.

"I am giving them a chance but we don't even get a response from them on the forums saying they're going to take into consideration our suggestions so how are we supposed to think and react?
By the way I would advise you against ever telling someone to calm down over a post because it's really hard to tell what their tone of voice is and what their motivation is. Some people get really pissed off when someone tells them to calm down. Just FYI.
I look forward to them fixing the issues we've addressed. Or maybe at the very least acknowledging that they're read them or even took them into consideration."
I see your point and yes, acknowledgement would be nice to see even if they don't take our sugesstions, I'm 100% with you on that one.
I said calm down because your posts seem very angry and accusatory towards the production team who are giving us this content. Crit is good and is needed for these kinds of things to improve and I think you make very valid points but at the same time we, as users, should try and be polite as we deliver our critisism. Saying they did a 'crap job' and then thanking them for 'ruining the episode' is not polite at all. You just seemed very sarcastic and negative... that's all. I'm sorry if you got angry at my post, I got upset at the way you were talking about the prod staff so I wanted to voice my feelings.

"Calm down man, there is a new batch coming out so let's give them a chance to take our crit. They have been improving this show as it goes on and I'm sure they'll fix it up.
For the show, this one was great! The wet edges brush option is pretty cool, very useful. I also like creating the paper textures... that has so many applications.
Great job Bert and team!"
