Identity Crisis

Geoff Johns's JSA V1: The Next Age

Grant Morrison JLA: V1

If you had to pick one of those three, which would it be? Other suggestions welcome too
Identity Crisis is excellent. I've read it probably 5 times, and even though i know what's coming, I still get teary eyed reading issue 1. every time. Probably my favorite DC mini series ever.

There was actually a Vertigo title a few years back called "The Crusades" but it wasn't literally about the Crusades. I don't remember it too clearly at the moment, but it was something like a reporter in current times who finds out about this Knight from hundreds of years ago, running around on a horse and lopping people's heads off or something. I didn't stick with it and it didn't last that long, but you might want to research it and see what it was all about.

Identity Crisis was the first non-batman DC book I read and, even though I had no connection whatsoever to any of the characters, the first issue was so powerful that it got me teary eyed too.

Okay, so I bought Identity Crisis and it was pretty good. Definitely pulled some heart strings. The ending wasn't perfect. I guess I got a little lost with what was going on, and I didn't find the big villain reveal all that believable. But overall I liked it a lot.

I heard Infinite Crisis was very hard to get, so I just read a synopsis of the events in that book. Any suggestions on what to read next? Are the 52 books pretty good, or should I look into some of John's JSA or some JLA or something?

I'm still waiting on my local comic book shop to get in Green Lantern: revenge of the green lanterns. I'm a little PO'd 'cause I had the dude order it, and a week later he tells me it still might be 3 weeks or so because his distributor sucks. I could have ordered it from Books-a-million or amazon and gotten it in a few days (for less probably), but I figured I'd throw some business his way. I've actually already got both volumes of Sinestro Corps Wars on my desk, but I want to read revenge first.

also, today I read the "March on Ultimatum" trade that I bought off a dude for $7. Wow, that was pretty good IMO. I've never read any "Ultimate" books except for Ultimates 1 and 2. The main story involving the Fantastic 4 and X-men was pretty epic and intense. And there were like 3 other enjoyable stories (Peter Parker discusses sex with Mary Jane and has his first run in with Mysterio, the black panther has his origin told, and there's a HILARIOUS story of the Hulk fighting Zarda).

Maybe it was just my low expectations, but I really enjoyed that read.
