Alright, what's the Misstag II thread all about?
Every time I do a search, the Misstag II thread comes up from the Sprechen Ze Jive forum. Can someone please tell me what makes this thread so interesting that over 29,000 people have posted on it, and over 200,000 people have viewed it? I need to know.

Not sure, I never was. Every 30 pages or so, someone would jump in the thread and ask the same thing. My favorite was some dork who said, "you guys realise this thread is in a foreign language", which spawned a tonne of Dutch replies, no idea what they were though.

It started with a simple photo posted to an internet forum just over 2 weeks ago. Now, the thread has been visited over 1.78MILLION times and internet users all around are familiar with 'MarlboroMan', 'LeeHoTTi', and the 'New Jersey clubbing guidos'.

It all started when a poster (whom we presume to be one of the young Gotti-wannabe guidos pictured in the photo) posted on the Sherdog Martial Arts Forums a 'Pic of me and mah boys up in Jersey', hanging out at a club 'right before UFC 56'.

Quite innocent in itself, but it seems the young lads' fashion-sense has captured international attention. For the boys are wearing similar-looking striped shirts (quite stylish on their own, but not when you're having your photo taken with 7 other similarly-attired guys), a few of them appear to be wearing their mom's earrings, the majority of them appear to be sporting over-done fake-tans, all-but-1 appear to have spent hours in the bathroom plucking their eyebrows, and they all have the the same I've-got-1-bottle-of-MegaHold-hair-gel-in-my-hair hairstyle.

When you put it all together, it's quite a sight.


Fashion trends come and go, and I'm sure we can all look back at our yearbook photos and say "what was I thinking?" and wish someone had told us at the time just how ridiculous we looked.

Thanks to the power of the internet, millions of people have gladly crawled out of the woodwork to share their opinion with our young guido friends.

The original photo has spawned hundreds of discussions on unrelated forums around the world, hundreds of photochops, multiple compilation video-montages, eBay auctions, dozens of YNTMND's, and even its own site , dedicated to LeeHoTTi who is 'the most heavily tanned & plucked one' in the original photo.

The Sherdog forum thread is on the verge of surpassing little (4x4 gear swindler) Charlie Wenzel in the annuls of 'unwanted' internet celebritydom.
